At Home Advent Wreath

The lighting of the Advent wreath during worship will be a big part of the season and you're invited to join in from home by lighting your own candles. You can either simply light candles you already have at home or follow these instructions to make your own wreath.

ASK ME ANYTHING  |  Episode 2

You had so many great questions about the Bible, church, faith and God at this year's AMA Sunday!  Pastor Shane will try to continue answering your burning questions on a new video each week until all your questions are answered.  Video premiere each Wednesday night at 7pm on our YouTube channel.

Maundy Thursday Car Wash

This year for Maundy Thursday we are partnering with Friends Life Community to serve our community by washing cars. When Jesus washed the feet of his disciples he demonstrated that he was sent to serve and that even his lofty status as God's son did not exempt him from serving all. Since most of us travel by car these days, we'll be washing cars instead of feet.

So let's serve others this Maundy Thursday by cleaning the cars of our community.  From 3-7pm on Thursday, April 14th we'll be running a car wash with our good friends over at the Friends Life Community. Our volunteer sign-up is coming soon.

Lent 2022

This Lent, Hillsboro invites you to embrace the imperfections of both life and faith as we focus on transformation over perfection...a life where good enough is truly good enough.

If you've been thinking of taking the next step in your faith journey, whether that's becoming a Christian or joining the church, this is the event for you. You'll have the chance to meet with staff and church leaders to learn more about the mission and ministry of HPC and ask any questions you may have. We hope to see you there!

When will in-person gatherings resume?

At this time the Session has made no plans to move beyond phase 1.  The status of our community and safety concerns are being monitored on a weekly basis.  This will inform our decision of when to move into each new phase. We are actively consulting with state and local officials as well as an advisory team that represents health care professionals, legal professionals and other areas of relevant expertise.  Whenever a decision or change is made we will immediately inform the community through all relevant channels of communication.

What about regular yearly or special events?

Events will be subject to where we are in our phased reopening plan

Are there any in-person events happening yet?

Currently there are no official in-person HPC events happening.  We are functioning as a congregation exclusively online.  Small social circles, fellowship groups as well as some Life Groups have had informal gathering in modified outdoor settings but those have been conducted at the discretion of the individual participants.

As our state and country begin the process of reopening, our leadership has prepared a phased strategy that honors our core values of radical inclusion and solidarity ensuring that we move forward together. The status of our community and safety concerns are being monitored on a weekly basis.  This will inform our decision of when to move into each new phase. FORWARD TOGETHER

In order to help us better serve our community we'd like to know a little more about your experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Your answers help inform HPC leadership about key areas that help shape our way forward together.  This Forward Together Survey only takes a couple of minutes.

*Please make sure that every worshipping member of your household takes this survey (this includes children).
